Mission President Opens 10,000 Toes Ambassadors Training with 31 Volunteers

29 Jun 2026

SEPIK Mission President Pastor Henry Monape officially opened the 10,000 Toes Ambassadors Training today, as 31 volunteers from across East Sepik Province commenced a week-long health workshop hosted by Sepik SDA Health Services.

The training, themed around the journey of a “Refuelled Body, Renewed Mind, Refreshed Spirit,” brings together participants from all over the province who will be equipped as Ambassadors for the 10,000 Toes Campaign, a community wellness initiative focused on preventing lifestyle disease throughout the Sepik region and the country.

31 AMBASSADORS, ONE MISSION

Daily training sessions are being led by Health Promotion Officer Miss Jeannel Joremari, assisted by Health Director Mr. Daiven Watio. Together, they are guiding the 31 participants through a curriculum that covers everything from the biblical foundations of health ministry to the practical skills of wellness screening, biometrics, and community education on the lifestyle factors that drive non-communicable diseases.

By the end of the week, the 31 volunteers will be prepared to take on roles in wellness hubs, church teams and zoned community outreach, carrying practical health education and biometric screening directly into the communities of East Sepik Province, with a clear focus on prevention rather than cure.

With Pastor Monape’s official opening setting the tone for the week, the program is now underway in full, with graduation and the presentation of certificates to follow at the close of the training.
